History:

Catalyst for CARE has been working to support Georgia’s children and families at risk and the caregivers who serve them since 1996.  Originally founded as the Georgia Association of Homes and Services for Children Foundation in 1996, the organization was created by members of the Georgia Association of Homes and Services for Children (GAHSC) in order to provide more direct services and supports to children, families, and staff of service provider agencies. 

In 2007, the organization changed its name to Catalyst for CARE, with the CARE representing an acronym for our work in the areas of Collaboration, Assistance, Research, and Education.
