We are excited to welcome to CfC Terence Johnson who will serve as the Chief Operating Officer.  Terence brings a wealth of experience in child welfare, non-profit leadership and national advocacy for children at-risk.

CfC is very pleased to announce that effective May 1, 2008 Terence Johnson will be the new  Chief Operating Officer.  Terence has been very involved in child welfare advocacy for over 20 years.  Most recently Terence has been Vice President of Neighbor to Family in Georgia, North Carolina, Virginia and D.C.  As Vice President, he managed over 450 staff and built Neighbor to Family to be the largest child placing agency in Georgia.  He is recognized nationally for his work in organizational development, best practice training, and consultation.  He has had leadership positions in three of our GAHSC member agencies producing exceptional programmatic development.  Terence earned his Bachelors of Arts degree from the University of Missouri and a Master of Arts from the Loyola Marymount University in California in communications.  He has extensive experience in child welfare, best practice, public speaking, contract negotiation, fundraising, staff development and organizational development.  Terence will start on May 1st as Catalyst for Care’s first full-time Chief Operating Officer. 

 

 

Cara Fox, Special Projects

Cara Fox has been with Catalyst for CARE since 2001 and is responsible for management of daily operations, program planning and evaluation, project management, and fundraising/development.  Prior to joining Catalyst for CARE, Cara worked with the Georgia Association of Homes and Services for Children as Member Services and Training Director.  Cara has a Bachelors in Social Work, a Masters in Public Affairs, and a certificate in Non-Profit management, all from the University of Texas at Austin.  She has over ten years of experience working with non profits focusing on child welfare issues.

   

Susan Allison, Project Transition Director

Susan began working at Catalyst for CARE in 2005 as the Project Director

for the Celebration of Excellence, a state-wide graduation event for youth

in foster care who are graduating from high school, GED programs, technical

school or college.  Prior to joining Catalyst for CARE, Susan volunteered

with the organization in several capacities for over 5 years. She also

volunteers as a Citizen Review Panel member for Fulton County Juvenile

Court.  Susan has a bachelors degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and worked for 12 years in radio and television production prior to finding her true passion in working with youth in foster care.

 

Jessica Cole, Professional Development Director

Jessica Cole recently joined Catalyst for CARE in July 2007 and is responsible for coordination and implementation of department-sponsored, educational events, including, trainings, workshops and conferences.  Prior to joining Catalyst for CARE, Jessica worked with several community based organizations, providing direct services to youth and adults.  Jessica has a Bachelors degree in Human Services, and a Masters in Professional Counseling, both from Mercer University.  She has over five years of experience working with non profits focusing on child welfare issues.

Amanda Banks joined Catalyst for CARE in February of 2006. She attended the Art Institute of Atlanta where she studied Web Design and Photography. She is a resident of Smyrna with her son, Ethan. In her youth, Amanda and her younger siblings experienced life in Foster and Emergency Housing care. She is the Project Transition Assistant and also aids in graphic and website development.

Angie recently joined Catalyst for CARE in July 2007 after she graduated from Kennesaw State University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in English.   Angie is responsible for coordinating the operations of Catalyst for CARE's Project Transition and Professional Development programs.  She is responsible for bookkeeping and data management, and she assists in the logistics of conferences and fundraisers.  Prior to joining CFC, she was the Kindergarten Department Director for Atlanta West Christian Academy in Lithia Springs, GA, and she worked in the Financial Services: SPLOST division at the Board of Education of Cobb County.
