"A Starry Night," our 7th Annual Fundraiser
was held on January 26, 2008 at the Foundry at Puritan Mill. Lane Carlock Howard and
Clark Howard were our honorary chairpersons.
Thank you to everyone for their generous
contributions through "A Starry Night." With your help we raised
nearly $100,000 to benefit youth who are aging out of Georgia's
foster care system and transitioning to independent adulthood!
About "A Starry Night"
"A
Starry Night" had humble beginnings 7 years ago as a breakfast
at Peachtree Road United Methodist Church with a former foster youth
addressing the audience to raise awareness
about youth aging out of the foster care system. That breakfast
raised $8,000 for our scholarship program and has since grown into a
major fundraising event in Atlanta with proceeds going towards our programs that support
kids in Georgia's foster care system.
Our
7th annual "A Starry Night" was held on Saturday, January
26, 2008 at The Foundry at Puritan Mill. The event, catered by
Avenue Catering included live music
from the Mike Veal Band, open bar featuring wine from Wine Gallery +
Market and a "Startini
Bar", special guest speakers, and live and silent auctions.
The event was attended by nearly 400 of Atlanta's business and
community leaders and raised nearly $90,000!
