Ways to Get Involved TODAY 

 

1. Mentor a foster youth through LINC

2. Start a fundraiser or campaign among a group of co-workers, neighbors, friends, recreational groups, church, etc. to collectively sponsor a scholarship

3. Join the “A Starry Night” fundraiser host and/or planning committees

4. Volunteer in the Catalyst for CARE office

5. Get restaurant/retail/grocery gift cards donated for the Celebration of Excellence graduate gifts or get people in your office to participate in a drive to raise funds for gift cards

6. Host a dinner party for a few foster youth – teach them how to cook a simple meal or invite a few of your friends that you think could help them network

7. “Adopt” a foster youth in college by sending them regular notes of encouragement, care packages, and a birthday greeting

8. Convince your employer to sponsor an internship in your office for a foster youth

9. Join a Catalyst for CARE committee

10. Pull together a Lunch-N-Learn session at your office, club meeting, etc. and we will bring a foster youth to speak and help raise awareness on this issue

11. Host a luncheon honoring scholarship winners

12. Donate your extra tickets to concerts, sporting events, and places to see to a young adult in foster care
